This year, the Eagle Jazz & Blues Fest is more than a concert — it becomes a living canvas.
Imagine golden Idaho sunlight drifting across the park. The first saxophone note rises into the evening air. The bass line walks steady and true. And just beyond the stage, artists stand at their easels, brushes dancing in rhythm with the music.
Welcome to “Rhythm & Hues — Color It Jazz!”
On Friday evening, September 18th at Heritage Park, we will have a free Kick Off Concert. There, talented Eagle Plein Air painters will capture the spirit of the festival in real time — transforming melody into motion, harmony into color, and improvisation into brushstroke. As musicians improvise on stage, painters will improvise on canvas.
Families can stroll through the festival grounds and witness art being created before their eyes. Children will see how sounds become colorful. Patrons can meet the artists, and even purchase original works inspired by the very performance they’re enjoying.
This unique fusion celebrates what jazz is all about — creativity, spontaneity, and community. Just as jazz musicians listen and respond to one another, our painters will respond to the rhythm of the stage, the warmth of the crowd, and the beauty of an Idaho summer evening.
The 5th Annual Eagle Jazz & Blues Fest is scheduled for September 18-19th at various locations throughout Eagle. Check us out for more information at www.eaglejazz.org. We hope to see you there!
